Leonardo da Vinci

When we think of Leonardo da Vinci, we usually think of a great artist, or of the Mona Lisa. And that's about it. But there is more to Leonardo than meets the eye. Leonardo was a great inventor, and loved to study the flight of birds and the delicate shape and coloring of the wild flowers that grew on the mountain. He loved to create war machines. He was a great thinker. He even came to the conclusion that to take life from anything was senseless and stupid! How many people in history ever say that!? You can find out more by reading Emily Hahn's Leonardo da Vinci. It's a very good book!

It's amazing to think about someone who could see the beauty in a flower petal and be intrigued by the machines of war at the same time! Imagine the inner turmoil.
